Abstract
The recognition of Physical and Sports Activitiesas a means for the socialization of individuals in situations of social vulnerability has encouraged public and private institutions in several countries to implement Social Inclusion Projects (SIP) through sport for this purpose. This integrative review aims to identify, analyze and synthesize the results of studies published in English, Spanish and Portuguese in the period between 2010 and 2021 in the Scopus database, to verify why sport is used in sports projects for social inclusion of children, adolescents and young people in situations of social vulnerability; what are the main characteristics of the studies and; what are the effects of the Physical and Sports Activities on the training of the participants. It was found that sport has been used to help develop personal and social skills and abilities of children, adolescents and young people in situations of social vulnerability. The multidisciplinary character of the phenomenon investigated seems to explain the identification of qualitative studies (single case, multiple cases, ethnography), quantitative and mixed methods (survey, correlational and quasi-experimental). Benefits of thepractice of Physical and Sports Activities were identified in Health Promotion, in Gender relations, in the expansion of Social Capital, in the improvement of psychological aspects and in the social opportunities of the participants.
